EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

Renowned global investor Frank Holmes leads the HIVE board of directors, contributing to the company's vision and strategy. Mr. Holmes is chief executive and chief investment officer at U.S. Global Investors, a leading mutual fund and asset management firm. Mr. Holmes is a sought after keynote speaker at international investment conferences and a regular guest in business media. His Frank Talk CEO Blog is one of the most widely read in finance.

Aydin Kilic

PRESIDENT & CEO

Mr. Kilic has over 20 years' experience as an entrepreneur and electronic engineer with expertise in cryptocurrency, capital markets, real estate development and scientific research. He founded Fortress Blockchain Corp. in 2017 and led this company as CEO to go public as a Tier 1 Technology Issuer on the TSX-V, raising $30M in the process.

With this experience Mr. Kilic brings the HIVE team his comprehensive understanding of the intersect of cryptocurrency and the Canadian capital markets, public company audit demands and exchange rules, along with the importance of ESG investing. Additionally, as a development executive, Mr. Kilic has received commitments from Canadian banks for over $100M in financing for land rezoning and development projects and has secured over $200M of land acquisition offers, while bringing over $100M of project value to market in BC. Mr. Kilic will lead HIVE in its global expansion and development of data centers, reporting directly to Frank Holmes, Executive Chairman.

Mr. Kilic holds a degree in Engineering Science (Honours) from Simon Fraser University, having specialized in high-frequency electronics, VLSI, and time-variant 3D electromagnetics.

Darcy Daubaras

CFO

Mr. Daubaras has over 25 years of experience in corporate accounting and public company service. Prior to joining HIVE, Mr. Daubaras was a member of the executive team at FinancialCAD Corporation, and previously served as the Chief Financial Officer for a number of Canadian listed public companies as well as serving as the Director of Corporate Accounting with Mercer International. Mr. Daubaras was awarded a CPA, CA designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia as well as being awarded a CPA designation in Illinois and has experience with Sarbanes-Oxley. He received a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria.

Gabriel Lamas

PARAGUAY COUNTRY PRESIDENT

Mr. Gabriel Lamas is an electrical engineer with 20 years of experience. He has recently worked with Bitfarms as Director of Infrastructure and Operations for LATAM and has also served as Global Director of Engineering and Design. Prior to that, his major contribution was developing the Basic Engineering for the ITAIPU Retrofit Tender, which led to the main contractor being awarded the project. He has served Paraguay’s National Utility (ANDE), coordinating dam reservoir operations, monitoring and operating the transmission grid, and forecasting energy demand, among other responsibilities. He contributed to the implementation of the SCADA-EMS control center and associated systems for ANDE. In the private sector, Mr. Lamas has provided consulting for various companies, supporting international tenders for power equipment, automation, and control systems for substations. He was involved in feasibility studies for substations across Paraguay and developed EPC projects for industrial plants, working with several well-known brands in the energy sector.

Johanna Thörnblad

SWEDEN COUNTRY PRESIDENT

Johanna Thörnblad joined HIVE in 2021 as Managing Director of Bikupa Datacenter AB and Bikupa Datacenter 2 AB, the company's two Swedish subsidiaries, and was quickly promoted to the position of Country President in Sweden for these operations. Mrs. Thörnblad also serves on the board of HIVE Switzerland and Sweden.

Originally from Sweden, Mrs. Thörnblad has over 20 years of international management and global corporate communications experience; this includes investor relations, media relations, marketing and sales with companies such as Fidelity Investments (Series 7 and 24 licensed), U.S. Global Investors, Inc. (NASDAQ: GROW), and Meridian Fund Managers Ltd., a BVI registered fund manager.

Mrs. Thörnblad holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in Psychology from Kent State University.

Craig Tavares

PRESIDENT & COO, BUZZ HPC

Craig Tavares brings over 20 years of experience in digital infrastructure and energy to his role as President of Buzz AI, where he leads the GPU Cloud and HPC data center business. A recognized innovator across the telecom, data center, cloud, and power generation industries, Tavares has a proven track record of driving growth and success in high-performance technologies.

His career began with the development of a metro fiber network and Internet service provider, Toronto Hydro Telecom. He then held several leadership positions at Cogeco, where he managed and expanded a global portfolio of 20 data centers, regional public clouds, global IP/MPLS networks, and HPC hosting services serving thousands of enterprise customers.

At Aptum, Tavares served as Head of Cloud, launching a global business offering managed DevOps, private and public cloud solutions, and partnerships with Microsoft Azure and AWS. He also led product and program strategy for third-party clouds and Apple-owned data centers, contributing to Apple's hybrid approach.

Mr. Tavares co-founded Kingston Co-gen, an independent power producer, where he led M&A, debt financing, and corporate development, acquiring and operating over 300 MW of natural gas generation and creating one of North America’s first HPC data centers connected to a power plant.

Additionally, he has advised and contributed to several scale-up companies in energy, HPC, big data, and AI. At Buzz AI, his leadership is instrumental in expanding the company’s HPC capabilities and delivering high-performance cloud solutions for demanding workloads.
